Career Staff

By joining our permanent staff team, you will also become an associate member of the Students' Union, and be able to get involved in many of our student Society activities, Sports and events, as well as take advantage of national student discounts through an NUS Totum Card. You will also be entitled to some fantastic benefits, including

Application Process

We ask for you to submit a CV (2 pages) and covering letter (1 page). We know applications can be time-consuming and we want to reduce that burden on you at the initial application stage. Please follow the guidance below with regards to you covering letter:

  • Address the essential and desirable criteria that are assessed at the application stage in the person specification.
  • Where we mention experience, we want to hear about things you have done in previous roles that relate to that criteria.
  • Keep it punchy! Don't use 50 words when you can tell us in 15.

Bias

We are committed to removing bias during our application process. As part of this committment we ask when you submit your CV and cover letter that you attempt to do the following:

  • Do not include dates next to any qualifications, this way our shortlising panel can't identify your age
  • Do not include your date of birth

  • Do not include your email address on either document, this way the shortlisting panel will not know your name
  • Do not include your name on either document
  • Do not include gender/ethnicity identifiers
