We are a registered Charity, completely independent from the University. Led by our Students and backed by volunteers and staff, we seek to ensure that our Students’ time at University is the best it can be; rewarding, fulfilling and memorable.
All students automatically become members of the Students’ Union by being students at The University of Northampton and membership is completely free. We are a vibrant community, and all our members are entitled to access all of our services and opportunities, including free sports, societies, volunteering, advice and representation, our commercial outlets, such as our own nightclub the Platform, Art Shop, Pit Stop Café and Park Campus shop.
Through our democratically elected Sabbatical Officers, Executive team and Student Advocates, we offer representation, a source of support for students when they need their voice to be heard. All our Sabbatical Officers are Mental Health first-aid trained, as well as some of our staff members, which shows how committed we are to the wellbeing of our members.
We hope your studies run smoothly over the course of your time in Northampton, but if you do happen to run into some difficulties, the Students’ Union Academic Advice Service is available to assist you with a range of problems relating to, but not restricted to; Academic Integrity and Misconduct, Course Terminations, Mitigating Circumstances, Temporary Financial Hardship and Complaints. More information on support can be found on our ‘Get Support’ page.
