Postgraduate Research Representation

Postgraduate Research students voice is just as important to the Students' Union and the University as all other modes of study. Therefore, the Students' Union and the University are working closely to ensure that the PGR students voice is collected, as well as heard.

Research Degree Boards and Committees

The four subject-based Research Degrees Boards (RDB) and the University-wide Research Degrees Committee (RDC) meet regularly throughout the year to discuss matters related to the student experience, researcher development and postgraduate research policies. You can download a diagram of the committee-structure showing the role of each board and committee and how they inter-relate. The RDBs and RDC are populated by experienced supervisors and researchers and each has student representative members. You can download the terms of reference and membership of each of the Research Degrees Boards, the Research Degrees Committee and the Research Ethics Committee.

The University and Faculty Research and Enterprise Committees do not deal with PGR matters directly but do have student representatives.

The following chart states the committees in with PGRs have representation, as well as details of the current student representatives. Any vacancies will be detailed below.
