Elections 2020

Elections 2020

Your Union needs YOU

Passionate? Born leader? Caring? Tell it like it is?

Time to make a difference and make your voice heard.

The University of Northampton Students’ Union is YOUR Union and plays a key part in every student’s life. Now it’s time to offer every student the chance to play a key role in the Union.

Elections are on the horizon: that time of year when students are invited to put themselves forward for a Union leadership role. This is a fantastic opportunity to get truly involved, to help steer your Union and to represent all your fellow students – to the University and to the wider community. What’s more, holding a Union post gives you the chance to make a real difference, to have your say and to represent the views of others. You’ll be working as part of a great team – vital life experience for any future landscape you find yourself in – plus you’ll get to spend another year at our wonderful University!

The Roles

Four of the posts are Sabbatical Officers, with three who are in full-time, paid roles and one in a part-time paid role. They sit on the University’s highest committees including the Student Experience Committee (dealing with academic matters), Senate (the University’s highest committee) and the Operational Student Experience Working Group (for matters such as catering, buses and the library).

Our Part-Time Officers are key when there’s a need for stronger representation. These voluntary roles offer a fantastic opportunity for you to make a real change to student life. All University of Northampton students are eligible both to stand for these roles and to vote for their preferred candidate.
