About Hockey (Women's)
The University of Northampton Women’s Hockey club is an inclusive club that welcomes members from all years and all abilities! We value enthusiasm and commitment and aim to create a fun and supportive atmosphere where all members can develop their skills and become part of the squad.
We regularly compete in the BUCS league on Wednesdays and we are also entered into the midlands conference plate every year, giving us the opportunity to succeed not only in the league but also the cup games (which we have been runners up in for two seasons in a row!).
We have socials every Wednesday night which are always good fun. We all dress up and bond as a team before heading out into town, we also regularly have joint socials with other clubs from the uni, giving our members the opportunity to make friends across a host of different sports.
We train every Monday 6:45pm-8:15pm at Moulton College on the water-based pitch where our coach plans and runs sessions suited to what we can work on as a team- which means our sessions are always varied and tailored to suit everyone. We also have sessions on Fridays in the sports dome which will vary from fitness sessions, indoor hockey and other games to keep up our fitness whilst keeping sessions fun, positive and build a good team atmosphere. We always travel together and car share, so it doesn’t matter whether you drive or not we always have plenty of room.

All of our clubs and societies are run by a committee.
A committee is a team of people that lead, organise and publicise a group within your Students’ Union.
It can be really rewarding as well as being a great way to gain experience and invaluable skills for your future career.
